Senayan is shortened from the word Wangsanayan. Wangsanayan was a Balinese Lieutenant who was part of the administrative village in the Kebayoran Baru sub-district. He lived towards the end ofthe 17th century. Presently, the location harbours commercial ventures and is reputed for its various lifestyle businesses.
