Ernest Francois Eugene Douwes Dekker was an Indonesian freedom fighter and politician in the late 1800s. After Indonesian independence, he adopted a Sundanese name, Danoedirdja Setiaboedi, from which this station derives its moniker. He remains a city hero till today.

In a tribute to the timeless legacy of the city hero, the station’s interiors are decorated with the “freedom fighter” motif, featuring an Islamic geometric design symbolising infinite growth, elegance and reverence.
